Welcome to the Trichology Scotland page. Trichology, derived from the Greek word ‘Trichos’ meaning hair, is the study of the hair and scalp. As a professional trichologist in Scotland for over 20 years, I’ve treated many hair and scalp disorders which can occur at any stage in life. However, the best advice I can give you is that nothing equals a personal consultation to help diagnose your problem. Hair and scalp conditions are often connected to personal factors, illness, stress, poor nutrition, shock anxiety and so on. So, in my experience in Scotland, an individual assessment of your overall wellbeing is recommended. Hair samples are taken when appropriate and may confirm a diagnosis. All treatments are personalised to the individual however, may include the following: Cooling,calming,detoxifying cream applied to scalp, normalising sebaceous glands. Steam or light treatment to encourage the blood flow and assist detoxification. Scalp is re-hydrated with sauna of dead sea salts and aromatherapy oils then followed by lymphatic drainage head and neck massage. Note a £40 cancellation fee will apply if cancelled within 24 hours of appointment.

REFLEXOLOGY

My experience in Scotland has shown after being frustrated that lotions and potions don't fix all conditions I discovered that Reflexology is particularly effective for auto immune conditions, hormonal, stress/anxiety/depression. These conditions all can contribute to hair and scalp conditions. Hair is an extremity, it gets what is left nutritionally and is a good barometer of what's going on in the body. Note a £40 cancellation fee will apply if cancelled within 24 hours of a booked appointment.

Initial one to one consultation to discover and diagnose the reasons for hair loss/scalp conditions.This includes lifestyle, diet and medical history. Hair samples are taken where appropriate and analysed in-house. Diagnosis and advice on treatment where necessary, is then given.

A £40 cancellation fee will apply if a booked consultation is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment.
